My name is Tanya and I’m a qualified counsellor working in the field of Mental Health. I have a diploma of counselling and qualifications in mental health and also addictions with alcohol and other drugs. I have extensive experience in depression and anxiety and experience in facilitating support groups for pain management. Another area I am passionate about is working with clients as a support coordinator to help reconnect them within the community to supports they need.
Talking about your thoughts and feelings can help you deal with times when you feel troubled about something. If you turn a worry over and over in your mind, the worry can grow.
But talking about it can help you work out what is really bothering you and explore what you can do about it.
I have the ability to quickly build rapport and the skills to assist people to feel comfortable and help support them make informed decisions. My clients have found me to be friendly, helpful, supportive and professional. My preferred approach to counselling is a holistic base using person-centred and strength-focused.
